Q: When are new books released?

A: We release new books on the 15th of each month.

Q: Do you parody any other animes?

A: In addition to Ranma parodies, we do a yearly superhero parody called Justice Hentai. Some of our affiliated artists also release comics based upon Dragon Ball, Cowboy Bebop, and Evangelion. However, the core group at the RHB only works on Ranma and Justice Hentai at this time.

Q: Is there a chance that you will do a book about (insert character here)?

A: We have taken big gambles on creating comics starring less popular characters such as Kodachi, Hinako, and even Herb (who never even appeared outside the manga). We strive to find a balance in our release schedule that offers plenty of the famous characters we all love, and the lesser known gems that hard core fans wish would get a comic about them. If you have a favorite that you want to see get a treatment in one of our comics, let us know in the forums!

Q: Are these comics legal?

A: We operate the same way other doujin circles operate. We create Ranma comics by fans, for fans. Japanese publishers allow this with a wink and nod. There's an understanding that fan comics serve to promote the popularity of their brands. Doujins can be purchased legitimately in Japanese stores and sold at conventions after all so if the copyright holders wanted to take legal action, they could, but they choose not to because they see more positives than negatives from doujin activity. Ranma hasn't been active for many years, but we do our best to keep interest in the franchise alive in our own small way.

Q: Do you guys "profit" from this?

A: Deep Star Books is a non-proft organization. We use ALLl our revenue to make more projects. And if you don't think that's the case, then how is it we have released dozens of comics in a few short years? Our purpose is to raise funds to keep making more Ranma and we have kept that promise. We need continued support from our fans to continue our mission to bring them new Ranma Hentai every month.

All the artists take way less pay to work on these projects. And they make that sacrifice because they are fans themselves. These aren't projects driven by greed, but rather labors of love by fans, for fans.

Q: Are you guys ok with us sharing these comics on other websites?

A: We ask our fans to respect our work and not share these comics. We have a razor thin budget and truly need every sale. I can't stress enough how important each buy is, and how committed we are to using those funds to make more comics and improve the quality of our work. The great improvements we have made so far are because of the fan support, and without it, we simply could not continue. In this extraordinarily hard economy, it's even more important to protect the integrity of our work to ensure that we survive these uncertain times. So please, don't share our work on other websites. We thank you for your understanding and support.
